Rhinos and Mowgli's Tigers itinerary combines Kaziranga National park with the most popular tiger’s reserves of central India Bandhavgarh and Kanha National park. Kaziranga National Park is a national park is in the northeast state of Assam, India. A World Heritage Site, the park hosts two-thirds of the world's Great One-horned Rhinoceroses. Bandhavgarh has one of the highest densities of Bengal tigers known in the world, divided into four main zones which are Tala, Magdhi, Khitauli, and Panpatta. Tala is the richest zone in terms of biodiversity, mainly tigers. Kanha National Park is the biggest park in Madhya Pradesh, India and has significant population of Royal Bengal Tiger, leopards, the sloth bear, Barasingha and Indian wild dog. The lush sal and bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1:Arrive In New Delhi

Meet and greet on arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport by BookIndiaHoliday representatives. Thereafter receive a short briefing about your safari which gives you a clear idea on the places you are going to visit as well as the accommodation arrangements. After the briefing be driven to your city hotel for check-in.

Day 2:New Delhi - Full Day Sightseeing

Today after breakfast, head on for full day guided sightseeing of Old and New Delhi. First we will be visit Old Delhi, build by the fifth Mughal Emperor Shanjehan known as Shahjehanabad during Mughal rule. Here you will first visit the largest Mosque of Asia Jama Masjid and there upon enjoy rickshaw ride through the narrow bylanes of Shahjehanabad , will give you an glimpse of the bygone era, followed by visit to and Red fort build by the same emperor. Later visit the Raj Ghat, the cremation ground of Mahatma Gandhi. Than have lunch at city restaurant. After Lunch, you visit Humayun Tomb- also called precursor of Taj Mahal, followed by drive through the Luyten Delhi, where you will have glimpse of British era, with short stop at India gate, memorial built in the memory of Soldiers who died in First world war. Lastly visit Qutab Minar, the tallest and famous towers in the world, also famous for its architecture, history, design.Overnight at the Hotel

Day 3:New Delhi - Fly To Guwahati - Drive To Kaziranga National Park

Today early morning you will be transferred to airport with packed breakfast to board your flight to Guwahati, there upon you will be met and driven to Kaziranga national park (220km /4 1/2 hr). (Lunch at own cost)

Kaziranga National Park – declared a world heritage site covering about 430 square kilometers. It stretches for 40 kilometers (25 miles) in length from east to west, and is 13 kilometers (8 miles) wide. It hosts two-thirds of the world’s Great One-horned rhinoceros. Kaziranga also boasts the highest density of tigers among the protected areas in the world and was declared a Tiger Reserve in 2006. Though sighting of tigers are difficult due to the tall grasses which provides an excellent camouflage, their presence can be felt everywhere by way of pug marks, kills and territorial markings. The park is home to large breeding populations of elephants, wild water buffalo and swamp deer.Upon arrival, check in to you jungle lodge.Overnight at the Jungle Lodge.

Days 4 & 5:Kaziranga National Park

Early morning you will be taken for one hour elephant safari between 5.30 a.m. and 7.30 a.m. Return for breakfast and around 11am head on for jeep safari into the Kaziranga national park. Return for lunch and after relaxing for some time around 2pm head on for day’s second jeep safari into the national park.

You have two full days to explore wildlife of Kaziranga National park by Elephant & Jeep Safaris. The wildlife includes wild elephants, tiger, buffaloes, gaur, monkeys, deer’s, otters, badgers, leopards, and wild boar? The birdlife is also impressive. Thousands of migratory birds arrive at the park every year, from distant lands as far away as Siberia.Overnight at the Jungle Lodge

Day 6:Kaziranga - Drive To Guwahati - Fly To New Delhi

After breakfast you will be transferred to Guwahati airport to board your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to hotel.Overnight at the Hotel

Day 7:New Delhi - Fly To Jabalpur - Drive To Bandhavgarh National Park

Today early morning you will be transferred to airport to board your flight to Jabalpur. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to Bandhavgarh National Park(165km/4hr).

Bandhavgarh National Park is a park with a rich historical past. Prior to becoming a national park, the forests around Bandhavgarh had long been maintained as a Shikargah, or game preserve, of the Maharajas and their guests. It has the highest density of Bengal tigers known in the world, and is home to some famous named individual tigers. Charger, an animal so named because of his habit of charging at elephants and tourists (whom he nonetheless did not harm), was the first healthy male known to be living in Bandhavgarh since the 1990s. The female tigress called Sita, who once appeared on the cover of National Geographic, is considered the most photographed tiger in the world. The 105 km² of park area open to tourists was reported to have 22 tigers, a density of one tiger for every 4.77 km². (Population estimation exercise 2001). The population of tigers in the park in 2012 is about 44-49. There is a saying about the Park that goes: "In any other Park, You are lucky if you see a tiger. In Bandhavgarh, you are unlucky if you don't see (at least) one."Upon arrival, check in to your jungle resort.

After lunch at the resort, you will head on for afternoon jeep safari into the Bandhavgarh National Park.

Days 8 & 9:Bandhavgarh National Park

You have two full days to explore Bandhavgarh National park. Our local naturalists are extremely knowledgeable about park and the tiger movements since they grew up there and spent many years working as a naturalist. Having a couple days ensures tiger sightings and if you are lucky may catch a glimpse of them playing, hunting, sleeping and drinking.

Day 10: Bandhavgarh - Drive To Kanha National Park

After the early morning jeep safari return to your lodge. After relaxing breakfast, you will be driven to Kanha National Park, nestled in the Maikal range of Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh, the heart of India that forms the central Indian highlands. The national park is is one of the finest wildlife areas in the world. Spreading across two districts of Mandala and Kalaghat, was declared a reserve forest in 1879 and revalued as a wildlife sanctuary in 1933. This Park has been the source of inspiration for Rudyard Kipling, outstanding creation- "The Jungle Book". The Kanha National Park is home for wide ranges of wild creatures; right from the mighty tigers to the most populated Barasingha and the countless species of plants, birds, reptiles and insects and has fascinated many travelers around the corners of the world.

Days 11 & 12:Kanha National Park

You have two full days to explore Kanha National park. Early morning proceed for Jeep safari in search of tigers and other wildlife. Kanha is famous for its considerable tiger population. Other than tiger, leopards, wild dogs, wild cat, fox and the jackal are commonly seen at Kanha. Return to resort for breakfast.

Relax in the afternoon before heading out on your second jeep safari. Spending so much of your day in the park means you will come across a huge diversity of wildlife.

Day 13: Kanha National Park - Drive To Jabalpur - Fly To New Delhi

Following to the early morning head on for morning Jeep safari, you will be driven to Jabalpur airport for your flight to Delhi. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to the hotel.

Day 14: Departure

Today you will be driven to International airport in time to board your flight back home. Depart India with exciting and sweet memories of your wildlife trip to India.
