About Madhya Pradesh


Madhya Pradesh in the very beginning was tagged as one of the biggest state in India till a separate state of Chhattisgarh was created. Bhopal is the capital and Hindi is the language spoken in this state. It is called the "Heart of India". It is situated in the central part of India. It shares its borders with Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. Narmada is the only river that runs between the Vindhya and Satpura ranges.

Madhya Pradesh is one of the houses that is filled with the richness of the flora and fauna. The state is filled with 9 national parks which include the Kanha National park, Sanjay National Park, Pench, Satpura National Park, Van Vihar National Park and Bandhavgarh National Park. A lot of these parks are often filled with animals like Chital, Gaur, Nilgai, Leopard, Black Buck, Barasingha and Bisons. The state has an array of rock shelters in Bhimbetka and a UNESCO world Heritage Site. The town a part from all the shelters and heritage sites, it has an array of temples that begin from the Devi Jagdamba Temple, Lakshman Temple, Chitragupteshwara Temple, Kandariya Mahadeo Temple, Matangeshwara Temple and Chaunsat Yogini.

A tourist when coming all the way to the heart of India, gets to visit and step foot into arched interiors like Bir Singh's Palace, Sanchi stupa, Dhuandar falls and the Rajat Prapat falls. The state is known for its adventure as well as trekking, mountaineering, boating, parasailing are some of the activities a tourist loves to indulge himself in.

The state has its advantages when it comes to its touristic places like for instance the majestic forts and palaces, the national parks, scenic sunrises, carved temples, ancient caves and pre historic cave paintings and dense forests.

Rail: Madhya Pradesh is a state that is connected by the west central railways. The state has 20 major junctions that ply to regular trains to cities in and out of the place. Some of the most popular stations in this state are Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur and Ratlam.

Road: The state is well connected with 18 national and 50 state highways. Tourists have often hired taxi's to travel within the city or state.
